And so it begins…
Welcome to our blog!
At Dabble our dream is to inspire YOU! Not just until you say ‘I do’ but well into your ‘happily ever after’. We believe the build up to your wedding day can be a very enlightening yet frustrating time in your life. And as such, we are committed to bringing you the very best ideas, images and advice to guide you through the virtual minefield that confronts you on your way to the alter.
We know what we’re talking about here; Dabble was created after a disappointing experience with a wedding vendor! Has anyone else ever thought ‘I could do a better job of that?’
We’ve been through it all and came out the other side a fair bit wiser. And as any wife could tell you after your wedding day you think; what to do with all this very specific, new found wisdom? It’s not like you’re planning on doing it all again?! The only proper thing to do was share it our knowledge with you!
Our designs and products are lovingly made to order, so we thought, why not create a blog with you as the focus as well, after all it is YOUR day!
This will be your go to place for regular weekly updates, inspiring real weddings, gorgeous giveaways, new products, wedding trends and the best wedding vendors in Australia and overseas.
As well as inspiring you with pretty pictures, stylish brides and DIY projects (where most wedding blogs end), we’ll take a look behind the scenes at topics that concern you most from ‘How to diplomatically organize a seating plan to ‘Looking your best the healthy way’.
We’ll open up a forum where you can feel free to ask questions, leave comments and share your knowledge with other brides to be.
This week’s giveaway question: What do you think is the hardest wedding item to source in Australia and why?
Leave your answer in the comments box below. The most thoughtful answer wins a beautiful vintage parasol from Dabbles’ new collection!
The winner will be announced 12th May 2011…
Hey gorgeous girls, firstly i must say how amazingly CUTE and EXCITING this blog is! please update regularly, as a soon to be bride, im hunting for inspiration all day long! in relation to the hardest item to source.. hmmm ive struggled with pretty, good priced bridesmaid dresses (have finally purchased from a lovely girl in the US for under $100!) but also individual, funny, cute favours for all ages! Cant wait for your next posts! xxx
Why thank you Angie!
We always luv feedback

Warmest wishes

Hey! So excited to keep posted with an authentic and unique wedding blog! We’ve found that groomsmen outfits are the hardest to find! We are finding it difficult to find suits that fit well, along with looking good and that are at a reasonable price. It’s also really hard to find something unique and original with suits!..Any suggestions would be much appreciated! xx
Hey Amelia, how are you? Lovely blog!
Now…I can say with the utmost certainty, without a trace of doubt my mind, that the single hardest thing to find is a beautiful, elegant vintage dress in a size 14. Hell, give me a roomy size 12 and I’ll do the lemon detox diet for 6 months (I swear)!
Right now I am cursing all the tiny shouldered, wasp-waisted 50s brides for not leaving me more approachable dresses.
Thank you for your kind words Keira
Have you been to ‘Curvaceous Brides’ in Miranda yet? I popped in there today for you to see if they had any Vintage style dresses and they had a few lovely ones. I think finding beautiful elegant wedding dresses and bridesmaid dresses for girls who are over a size 10 is very frustrating and it really shouldnt be. I had a size 8, 12 and 16 in my bridal party and finding a dress that suited all of them was very hard. In the end we finally found beautiful dresses that looked amazing on all of them. I think we shall focus on this topic in the next 2 weeks and come up with some great ideas as well as places to go.

Hi DabbleinDesign!
In my experience, I found the hardest to decide on was the Photography. It was so important to me that I find a great photographer that could truely represent our special day, our experience and emotions. Especially as we decided on not having a videographer. It took us (well, me) weeks and weeks to find someone we had faith could do a fantastic job for us at a fantastic price..
You’ll be pleased to know we did find such a person, and can’t wait until all the great photos are put together in an album – by none other than the wonderdul DabbleinDesign!! xox
The photographer is so very important but it seems to be the one main thing alot of people cheapen out on.
We are very excited to be doing your wedding album….it is going to be amazing!

Hi Ladies,
What a fantastic site!
I love coming on here regularly to look at all the gorgeous items you have available.
Just when I think that you could not design or find any more great items your team uploads something new…..AMAZING!
I can not wait for the day that I can put my years of dreaming into action and start planning my very own special day (with the help of Dabbles of course) however there is one thing I am missing at this stage and that is the groom LOL
So in response to your question I would have to say a groom/husband is the thing I am finding most difficult to source
But when my search is successful I will be heading straight to Dabble InDesign
Keep up the great work ladies
xoxo
Why thank you Breeanne
Your comment is just too funny!!!
We hope you find your prince charming soon because every girl deserves to be a princess for a day.

Congrats on an amazing website! The hardest thing I have found to source so far have been DIY invitations that are more than just a printed card & envelope. I have had to source my card, shimmer paper, ribbon, diamate buckle & feather all from different places and put it together myself, as no where offers this type of DIY card.
Also Hens party clothes have been hard, as I have 4 very differnt sized hens (one having just given birth & the other pregnant) Thankfully I found a site that sold the diamante “bridesmaid” transfers, so my girls dont have to miss out, and can wear something they are confortable in
Awww thank you Shari….thats so nice of you too say. Alot of work has gone into getting the design right so its good know people like it
So many more products still to be added but we are getting there!
Its such a pity you didnt find us before because we have a great selection of DIY invitation supplies. We specialise in doing custom DIY invitations where we design the invitation for you to your requirements then supply you with everything you need to put them together yourself. Im so glad you found everything you needed in the end. This is defiantly a section on the website we must hurry up and do.
I totally agree with you on the hens party clothes. This is something even as a retailer i am having trouble finding from suppliers. The search is still on so hopefully we have a good selection soon. Great idea getting the diamonte transfers!
Thank you so much for your insightful comment.
